NikWax® re-waterproof treatment

Nikwax® products are recommended by Gore-tex® and CimAlp® because of their high quality.

This product allows you to re-waterproof your clothing. It treats each fibre in the fabric and blocks up microscopic fissures that let water through with waterproof yet breathable elastic polymers.
The clothes must be clean before you use this product. Washing the clothing with Tech Wash detergent will ensure effective waterproofing.
Your rain wear may absorb water just because it is dirty. First, wash them with Nikwax Tech Wash® and if they are practically new or have recently been re-waterproofed, the Durable Water Repellent (DWR) treatment will be renewed with just the washing. However, if the garment is well used, you will need to re-waterproof it with Nikwax TX.Direct® after washing it with Nikwax Tech Wash®.

It is easy and quick to apply during a machine wash and its Durable Water Repellent (DWR) treatment develops as the garment is air dried. Using the product in the washing machine ensures that the treatment penetrates the garment and treats the stitching, waterproof seams and strings, as well as the fabric. What is more, as you do not need to dry the garment in the tumble dryer, you save on energy and protect older, more fragile pieces from the heat. Nikwax TX.Direct® Wash-In was specially formulated for breathable, waterproof clothing. It leaves behind a water repellent treatment on each fibre and enables water vapour to pass through, ensuring optimum breathability.

Usage advice for waterproof clothing and accessories:

Use Nikwax Tech Wash during every wash.

After 6-8 washes, re-waterproof your clothing with Nikwax TX-Direct wash-in.
